Charter schools are expected to deliver results for students.

How charter schools deliver these results is up to them. They can make their own decisions about teaching, curriculum, governance, school hours, term dates, and how they use their funding.

Charter schools receive flexibility so they can do things differently.

In return, sponsor's contracts include clear targets for student attendance, achievement and financial management.

Although the specific terms may vary slightly by school, we use the following template agreement and performance plan when contracting with individual sponsors.

This contract template applies to all charter schools including new, converting and distance, and applies to all year groups.
